Topping now offers the excellent LA90 in a discrete version – the LA90 Discrete . The result is a powerful amplifier with incredible metering for immersive listening. The new NFCA discrete amplifier circuit provides extremely clear and accurate sound reproduction. The amplifier has the same features as the first LA90, with mono or stereo operation, variable gain and a combined balanced input jack for 6.35mm jack or XLR.
The LA90 Discrete amplifier's THD+N is extremely low, measured at less than 0.0001% under a 4/8Ω 5W load. These characteristics allow it to virtually accurately reproduce the original signal.
The LA90 Discrete provides three balanced inputs. The inputs have a combined format, which allows you to use both XLR and Jack 6.35mm TRS cables. In addition, three connectors allow you to use the device in monaural mode.
The Topping LA90 Discrete can be configured and connected to operate in stereo or mono mode, with the combination of two LA90Ds providing higher power. When used in mono mode, the minimum impedance is 4 ohms.
The LA90 Discrete's volume can be adjusted using the large knob on the front panel. It is also possible to bypass the LA90 Discrete's volume control to combine it with a HiFi preamplifier. The latter is useful for synchronizing the volume of two LA90 Discrete in mono mode.
To suit the vast majority of audio systems, including the most demanding ones, the LA90 Discrete offers two levels of adjustable gain. The first, Low Gain, provides +9.4 dB gain in stereo or +15.4 dB in mono, and the second, High Gain, provides +19.4 dB gain in stereo or +25.4 dB in mono.
Topping LA90 Discrete is equipped with 12V trigger input and output. Thus, it can be connected to other devices and enable them to turn on and off automatically.
