Vertere Acoustics primarily builds turntables and other items related to vinyl playback. The company has launched a new MC cartridge called Solo, specifically for mono playback, and has developed the Luna linear DC power supply for its DG turntable line.
Luna’s dedicated linear DC power supply was developed to ensure optimal performance for all DG models—DG-1, DG-1S, and DG-X—and the Tempo motor drive. The result, according to the designers, is a breathtaking performance with improved dynamics, greater clarity, and a more tangible sense of presence. The internal circuit architecture is derived from the linear power section of the Imperium motor drive, making Luna the natural upgrade for any DG, and all MG, SG, and RG models powered by the Tempo motor drive.
DC power supply is about much more than just maintaining a constant voltage. Vertere Solo: MC element for mono playback
The Solo MC cartridge was developed to faithfully reproduce the mono signal cut into the record groove, bringing music to life with breathtaking clarity and presence. Every element of the design has been carefully considered and refined, from the aluminum alloy telescopic cantilever, the horizontally active generator coil only, the Shibata III stylus profiles, and the mass-adjusted aluminum alloy housing. Everything is designed to extract more detail, more emotion, and more music from the record groove.
The generator is designed for mono signal playback, with the goal of reducing distortion and noise while maintaining resolution and channel balance. The cartridge has a specified output voltage of 0.4 mV, a frequency response of 10 Hz to 45 kHz, and a recommended tracking force of 2.15 grams. Construction includes a samarium-cobalt magnet system and Vertere's three-point headshell mounting and four-point generator support structure.
The cartridge is housed in a milled aluminum alloy housing featuring Vertere's signature 4-point mounting system, designed to enhance mechanical integrity and vibration damping. To ensure perfect synergy with the specially developed lightweight MC generator, the cartridge's mass and structural balance have been precisely matched to the new cantilever/coil suspension. This combination ensures that lateral modulations within the groove are captured, reproducing every nuance of the music with exceptional realism, from the subtlest string tones to the full tone of a grand piano and emotionally captured vocals.
Each element generator is individually calibrated and aligned to ensure optimal mechanical balance and unparalleled performance. The signature Vertere Four-Point Generator Floating Support System features four stainless steel spike screws, each carefully adjusted for precise alignment and structural integrity.
