Wadax launches Studio Player all-in-one digital solution

Wadax Studio Player
Wadax Studio Player

Spanish-based audio manufacturer Wadax has shown the Studio Player to the public at the High End audio fair in Munich, Germany. The Studio Player has an onboard optical drive that can play CD and SACD discs, as well as a streamer certified for Spotify Connect and Tidal Connect, and more services in the future. The device has a modular structure, which promises a certain future-proofness. Delivery will start during the current quarter.

Wadax Studio Player: all-in-one digital solution

The Studio Player is the first part of a completely new series of products and, according to Spanish manufacturer Wadax, is an all-in-one digital solution that can play optical discs (CD and SACD) and music from well-known streaming services. Building on the technological advancements honed in the Atlantis Reference Series, the Studio Player emerges as a unique, easy-to-use component that delivers sublime music reproduction for both streaming and optical media. The connections are designed for seamless integration and pave the way for future performance improvements via additional devices, while the modular design ensures upgradeability and generational advancement, all housed in a single chassis, Wadax's press release said.

Variable output voltage and adjustable output impedance give users the flexibility to tailor the Studio Player to their system and environment. In addition, connections for an external power supply (Studio PSU) and clock (Studio Clock) further enhance the music experience and complete the Studio Player ecosystem.

Distilling technologies from the incomparable Atlantis Reference DAC, the Studio Player applies trickle-down technology designed to deliver an exceptional musical journey. It resolves tonal texture and spatial definition, creating a rich soundscape that exudes an organic and natural presentation, avoiding the sterile, analytical sound often associated with digital components. This seamless fusion of technology and musicality forms the basis for immersive music enjoyment.

The Studio Player will be delivered during the second quarter of 2024 for a retail price of $35.000.
