Jamo S 801 PM: Compact speakers that deliver a punch

The new bookshelf speaker S 801 PM has become another element of the Studio 8 series of the Danish brand Jamo. According to the company, with relatively small sizes (height less than 30 cm), the systems will be able to please with large-scale sound and even with bass – the lower limit is indicated at 76 Hz. The new product is based on the developments and technologies of the famous Jamo S 801 model, having received a durable MDF cabinet with a rear-facing oval bass reflex port.

One of the two speakers is made the master one – it contains all the electronics with a control and switching panel on the rear wall. There is a power button, a volume knob, and an input for a 24V external power adapter. Jamo Studio S 801 PM has quite rich input switching. In addition to analog RCA, digital inputs are provided – optical and USB audio. Another USB connector is intended for service connection.

Of the outputs, in addition to quite serious acoustic terminals for connecting a passive speaker, there is an RCA connector for supplying a signal to an active subwoofer. In addition, the S 801 PM can receive Bluetooth streaming. The active speaker from the Jamo Studio S 801 PM kit is distinguished by the presence of a round window for the IR remote control receiver on the front panel. The systems feature 1-inch soft dome tweeters enhanced with WaveGuide technology for improved dynamics and sound quality. The midrange/bass drivers received aluminized polyfiber diffusers. Constant power of the systems is up to 24 W per channel.

The Jamo S 801 PM is available in two matte vinyl finishes – black and white – with a wood-finished tweeter frame and base. Woven grills on frames are attached with invisible magnets. Included is a remote control with batteries and a USB cable.
