The JansZen 9.5 speakers are released in the US , an updated version of the legendary KLH Nine speakers , created by the son of the developer of the original model, David Janszen (David Janszen).
Each speaker has six woofers with 200 mm ceramic cones operating in an open acoustic design. They sound the lower octaves up to a frequency of 200 Hz , above which a linear array of electrostatic emitters comes into play. It includes five vertical tapes whose rear radiation is partially absorbed for better matching with the listening room.
The same purpose is served by a special switch that allows you to reduce the sensitivity of electrostatic panels to increase the impact on low frequencies. The overall sensitivity of the JansZen 9.5 is only 82 dB , so the manufacturer recommends using speakers with amplifiers with nameplate power from 80 to 500 watts into 8 ohms. Claimed model impedance is 5 ohms , with a minimum of 4 ohms. Each column weighs 35.4 kg .
JansZen 9.5 hybrid speakers are sold in the US market for $21,500 per pair.
