The Speaker Box 5 from Pro-Ject has been the favorite of company founder Heinz Lichtenegger for years, according to the manufacturer, and the speaker is now getting an extensive overhaul after 15 years of production. The Speaker Box 5 E is affordable and, according to the designers, offers audiophile sound performance and impresses with high-quality components that are unique in this price range. It develops its strengths especially in small rooms and delivers an impressive sound.
The silk dome tweeter has a diameter of one inch and delivers clear and smooth high tones. The woofer with its five-inch glass fiber cone accompanies with a precise and powerful bass reproduction. The specified frequency range is 68 Hz to 20 kHz. The dimensions are 265 x 160 x 198 millimeters (H x W x D) and the Speaker Box 5 E weighs 4.04 kilograms. The specified impedance is four ohms. The bass port of the MDF cabinet is on the back.
The price is 349 euros per pair for the white, black and red version. The walnut version goes over the counter for just under 400 euros. A wall bracket for the Speaker Box 5 E is optionally available.
