UK-based loudspeaker manufacturer Stratton Acoustics, which is relatively new to the industry, recently unveiled two new models at the Axpona audio fair. The Element 6 and Element 8 represent the third and fourth offerings from this British company, rounding out their entry-level product lineup.

Stratton Acoustics Element 6 and Element 8

The Element 6 and Element 8 are notably more compact than the earlier Elypsis 1512 and Element 12 models. The manufacturer states that while the size has been minimized, the sound quality synonymous with the larger models has been preserved. These new models deliver the same acoustic accuracy and high-end craftsmanship in a more streamlined, aesthetically pleasing design, making them ideal for small to medium-sized listening spaces.

Both models incorporate Stratton's innovative 29-millimeter soft-dome tweeter, which is decoupled and equipped with a waveguide to ensure wide sound dispersion and accurate imaging. These components are encased in an enclosure made from an acrylic-silica polymer matrix, complemented by CNC-machined baffles crafted from aerospace-grade aluminum.

The Element 6 is tailored for smaller spaces or nearfield listening environments, featuring a 6-inch carbon fiber midrange/woofer. The manufacturer claims it delivers a refined and balanced audio performance within an enclosure designed to reduce resonance and enhance clarity. Despite its compact dimensions, the Element 6 promises a high-fidelity listening experience characterized by musical coherence and an appealing design, as stated by Stratton.

In contrast, the Element 8 is significantly larger and utilizes an 8-inch variant of the same carbon fiber driver, aimed at delivering more robust low-end performance. Its bass-reflex enclosure is equipped with dual resistive port openings, engineered to minimize tube resonance and eliminate port coloration, resulting in fast and melodic bass. Stratton asserts that the Element 8 is perfect for larger rooms where a wider dynamic range and deeper bass extension are sought, all while maintaining the brand's hallmark clarity.

To complement the new speakers, Stratton has also launched specialized Element Stands. These stands are made from aerospace-grade aluminum, ensuring rigidity, stability, and effective vibration control, while also reflecting the sculptural design of the speakers. They are designed to reduce floor interference, thereby preserving intricate details and enhancing stereo imaging.

All models are meticulously crafted in the UK by Stratton’s skilled artisan builders. The Element 6 and 8 feature a high-gloss piano lacquer finish complemented by silver baffles, with additional finishes planned for the future. Regarding the creation of these new speakers, founder David Fowler remarked: “These latest models reflect our dedication to designing speakers that deliver not only exceptional sound quality but also aesthetic appeal. While the Element 6 and Element 8 are compact, they do not compromise on performance. They are designed for music enthusiasts who seek to immerse themselves in the emotional depth of music while appreciating precision engineering and enduring beauty.”

The Stratton Acoustics Element 6 is priced at £15,000 for a pair, whereas the Element 8 is available for £20,000 per pair. Additionally, the compatible Element Stands can be purchased separately for £3,500.
