At IFA in Berlin, Japan's Sharp introduced the RP-TT100, an economical, fully automatic turntable that comes ready for immediate use.
After a significant break, Sharp is making its comeback in the turntable industry. The RP-TT100 is a fully automatic model equipped with a range of features, including Bluetooth and USB-C connectivity.
Vinyl records have regained their status as a classic format for album releases among numerous artists, and record presses are operating at full capacity to meet demand, while turntable manufacturers are thriving in business. The new Sharp RP-TT100 turntable revives the charm of vinyl and merges it with contemporary, advanced technology at a budget-friendly price.
The Sharp RP-TT100 turntable features an aluminum platter, a metal tonearm, and a matte black cabinet with a tinted plexiglass dust cover. The new turntable combines classic style with modern features such as integrated Bluetooth 5.4 streaming, allowing it to connect wirelessly to compatible powered speakers or headphones.
The Sharp RP-TT100's fully automatic tonearm offers convenient functions such as fast forward, rewind, pause, and repeat. The included cartridge is an Audio-Technica AT-3600L. Sharp has incorporated a phono amplifier with a three-stage gain control that can be switched on or off. The USB-C port is intended for digitizing vinyl records.
And most remarkably? The RP-TT100 comes with a remote control for operation from your favorite armchair.
Sharp RP-TT100: pricing and availability
Deliveries of the Sharp RP-TT100 are expected to begin in October for a suggested retail price of just under $200.
