Victrola established its reputation by unveiling the versatile wireless vinyl record player, the Victrola Stream Sapphire, priced at $1,300, during CES 2024 earlier this year. This model is compatible with Sonos, Roon, and UPnP streaming services. Now, Victrola introduces a more budget-friendly yet equally functional option. The Victrola Automatic player, as its name indicates, operates fully automatically. The tonearm autonomously locates the lead-in groove and will lift and return to its resting position once playback concludes. This feature not only caters to those who prefer a hands-off approach to analog records but also protects the cartridge stylus from wear in case the tonearm is forgotten at the end of a record, a common issue with manual players. Additionally, it includes a smart repeat function similar to that found in the fully automatic Rekkord F110 player.
Furthermore, the Victrola Automatic features Bluetooth streaming capabilities for compatible wireless headphones and speakers. It is equipped with Bluetooth version 5.0 and utilizes the standard SBC codec. Additionally, it includes a switchable built-in phono preamplifier, enabling the use of the RCA line output. This allows you to opt for the built-in phono preamplifier or to select an external one, including those integrated into your amplifier or active speakers.
The Victrola Automatic features a belt-driven design and is equipped with an Audio Technica AT-3600L moving magnet (MM) cartridge. It includes play buttons that are seamlessly integrated into the plinth, as well as electronic speed control for both 33 1/3 and 45 RPM records, along with options to select between 7″ and 12″ record sizes.
The Victrola Automatic turntable has officially launched in the United States, with a suggested retail price of $199.
